Neurodivergence
Gray Skies is a neurodivergent-affirming practice, with a primary focus on supporting individuals across the neurodivergent spectrum, including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Diagnosis
A formal diagnosis is not required, but it can be a valuable tool for self-understanding and validation. It may also provide a helpful framework for explaining the differences individuals experience compared to family members or peers. In many cases, diagnosis can guide more tailored treatment planning—identifying effective medications, therapeutic approaches, and skill-building strategies. For some, it offers a new lens through which to understand past struggles and a clearer path forward toward growth and greater self-compassion.
Research
It’s estimated that approximately 1 in 5 individuals in the United States is neurodivergent—a figure that may be significantly higher when accounting for the many who remain undiagnosed well into adulthood.
Early identification is critical. Research consistently shows that timely intervention can be highly neuroprotective, lowering the risk of co-occurring conditions and even reducing the likelihood of developing substance use disorders later in life.
At Gray Skies
We specialize in working with late-diagnosed adults who are navigating the complex emotional, relational, and identity impacts of discovering their neurodivergence later in life. We provide affirming, research-informed care that meets clients where they are, with a focus on meaning-making, self-understanding, and sustainable support.
