Gray Skies Therapy, LLC is the private practice of Krista Gray, M.Ed., LPC-MHSP, NCC. Krista earned her Master’s in Human Development Counseling (Clinical Mental Health track) from Vanderbilt University, graduating with honors in 2022.

During her graduate training, Krista completed dual internships at the Lipscomb University Counseling Center (LCC) and a private practice specializing in comprehensive, adherent DBT and family-based treatment models.

At LCC, Krista worked primarily with teens and young adults navigating neurodivergence, depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity development, and social anxiety. In her private practice internship, she received extensive training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of personality disorders—including Borderline, Histrionic, and Schizotypal—as well as conditions such as Autism, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and OCD.

Since graduating, Krista has focused on neurodivergent-affirming care, with particular expertise in identifying and treating ADHD, autism, personality disorders, and the underlying trauma that often complicates diagnosis. She is especially skilled at helping clients navigate complex presentations where these diagnoses are frequently misunderstood or mistaken for one another.

Her clinical work supports individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges, including emotion dysregulation, low distress tolerance, suicidal ideation, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and executive dysfunction.

Krista’s post-graduate training has concentrated on trauma-focused modalities, especially Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has worked with adults, teens, couples, and families to process trauma, develop skills, and improve overall quality of life.

In addition to her clinical work, Krista is a passionate advocate for social justice and is an active member of the local mental health community. She has served on the board of two non-profits and is currently in her fourth year as a board member of the Nashville Psychotherapy Institute.

A Note from Krista

During graduate school, I had the opportunity to intern at a practice that specialized in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—a treatment approach designed for individuals who are innately sensitive, often struggling with distress tolerance and emotional regulation. That experience shaped the course of my work, and I quickly discovered a deep passion for supporting clients with these challenges.

Since then, I’ve continued to build on that foundation through ongoing training in evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, DBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and the Four Blinks version of Flash. My goal is to offer therapy that is both effective and deeply attuned to each client’s unique needs and experiences.

I know that beginning therapy can feel incredibly vulnerable. I approach this work with sensitivity, warmth, and a commitment to helping you move toward the goals that matter most to you.
